2010 PRINT/CD DIGITAL FILE PORTRAIT PRICING
MORE DETAILS and FAQ Why should I have Bryan take portraits when it is less expensive at the mall? Bryan is an award winning photojournalist of 20 years. This gives him the experience to arrive at a location he may have never visited, find the best place to shoot and make images capturing the personality of people he has never met in a quick manor providing quality results. All with input from you on what you want the images to look like. Because Bryan will create a more artistic portrait that captures the mood and personality of the subject in familiar surroundings that add more meaning and feeling to the photos. While Bryan will adapt to your environment quickly, you are never rushed, as often the best shots occur when everyone has forgotten about the camera and can truly be themselves. These are custom portrait sessions individual to you and your situation, not limited cookie cutter backdrops the general public chooses from department stores at the mall during a very limited session. Every session with Bryan is unique to that person. What equipment do you use? We use all Nikon Professional digital SLR cameras and Nikon lenses. Our main camera is a high resolution Do you have a studio? I do not have a studio at this time however I do have professional studio lights I use along with natural light such as window light. One of the main objectives of Bryan Mitchell Photography is to capture the essence of each subject which is best done on location in the subject’s element rather than in a studio the subject is not familiar with. Therefore, I will bring the “studio” to you. Do you shoot on location? All of my work is shot on location to best capture the personality and essence of each subject. Examples of locations would be at your home, in your child’s room, your backyard, at the park, at school, a carnival, basically wherever I can add an element of personality. I will travel further distances but there is usually and additional travel fee. Contact me for specifics. How will I review my proofs? Images from the photo shoot will be posted online in a private gallery on our website for your review. Typically the photos are placed online within 24 hours of the photo shoot. Many times they are up online as early as 3 hours after the photo shoot. We always work at getting the images up online for viewing as soon as possible. How do we get copies of the photographs? Once posted online you can order prints and/or digital file CD's that will be printed and/or burned and sent to you. How do I pay for my photographs? We use Paypal.com for secure credit card ordering online. For mail-in orders, we accept checks (preferred) and money orders. We do accept cash, but do not advise sending that through the mail. We do not accept phone orders however please call with any questions. When is payment due? Payment for the photo shoot itself is due in full at the time of booking and print/CD orders are paid at the time of ordering. How are the prints made? In digital photography there is no negative. Photos are stored as digital data that is transferred from the camera and stored on computers as digital files. This data is sent to a lab where they send it to a high resolution CRT ("Cathode Ray Tube"). The light from the CRT is written directly on to the photo paper, just like traditional film photography. The paper is developed in a chemical process, washed, and dried, resulting in photographic prints. These are not inkjet prints with dots of ink on paper. They are actual chemical process photographic prints. What type of paper are the prints made on? The photo lab we have prints made at uses Kodak Professional Endura Archive paper. What is cropping? Cropping is the technique of editing the original photo to fit onto the size of the print you order and in some cases enhance the photo. SEE MORE ON CROPPING HERE. How long does it take to get my prints? Under normal circumstances you should receive your prints within 7-15 business days after ordering. Occasionally this delivery time may be slightly longer during busy periods or holidays. However, in some cases, you may get your prints much sooner. What can I do with the High Resolution CD? When you purchase a high-resolution, print-ready CD, you will receive a CD containing high resolution digital photo files. Each image on the CD will have been custom adjusted for color balance, exposure, noise reduction, contrast, etc. You will be given a print license allowing you to have the photo finisher of your choice make as many prints of these images as you wish. Prints are for personal use only and may not be used for advertising, marketing or promotion purposes. What size are the image files on the CD? Images are sized 5x7 inches at 300ppi and saved as a #10 JPEG. Other sizes can be printed from your chosen photo finisher however some cropping may occur. Why do the images look bad when I try to print them from your webpage? The images you see on-line are low-resolution, preview images. We size them small to allow for faster loading in your browser. The down side of smaller file sizes is the lack of quality. To get true photographs of these images, place an order with us online. Can I make copies of the photographs I purchased? The images you have purchased are copyrighted by Bryan Mitchell photography. If you would like additional copies, please contact us to order reprints. Please remember and respect that all photographic images on the Bryan Mitchell.com website are copyright protected. Will my pictures look better than the low resolution images online? Yes. Your images will be much more clear and sharp, and printed just like a regular photograph. If you would print the images we show online with your own printer, they could result in jagged edges. The photographs you order will not be like this. If you are not completely satisfied, just return the photos for a full refund What if I don't want to have my photos appear on your public website(s)? No problem. Just ask. I do ask many of my clients to sign a release so if I like an image I can use it for promotion to display on my website. I may also want to put an image in my stock files for possible licensing. If you prefer a certain photo and any photos not to be used at all that is not a problem. If you have any questions at all please contact me at bryan@bryanmitchell.com |
